SPF 50 offers superior protection over lower SPFs by blocking more UVB rays (98% vs. 97% for SPF 30), providing a crucial extra buffer, especially for prolonged sun exposure, sensitive skin, or when application might be imperfect, though proper application and broad-spectrum protection (UVA/UVB) are key, as the difference between SPF 50 and 100 is minimal (99%)
